Rant: A client said my $65 highlight looked 'too expensive for a Tuesday' and I have not stopped thinking about it
I was finishing up a partial foil on a regular in Sacramento on a random Tuesday and she made a joke about how the $65 was steep for a weekday appointment, which got a laugh out of the chair next to me. It bugged me the whole drive home because I had just spent two and a half hours sectioning, weaving, and toning, and somehow the price was the punchline. I get that money is tight for everyone, but valuing our time by what day of the week it happens to be feels backwards. Does anyone else deal with clients haggling on weekdays specifically, or is this just a weird thing in my shop?
Tuesday afternoon at the DMV on Broadway here in Sacramento, same thing. The clerk told me there's a flat fee no matter what day you show up, and nobody argues with her about it. I've seen this at my dentist too, $180 cleaning on a Monday is the same $180 on a Saturday. Your price is for the work, not the calendar.
