Am I the only one who still thinks about a kid on my Animal Crossing island from 2020?
Back in April 2020 I let a random player named Marcus visit my island to sell turnips, and he just wandered around for a bit instead of leaving right away. He stopped in front of my little orchard and said it reminded him of his grandma's yard in Ohio, then he dropped a cherry blossom wand as a thank you before heading out. I never talked to him again and his profile went dark a few weeks later. Now every time spring rolls around in a new Animal Crossing save, I plant one extra cherry tree in that same spot. Does anyone else still keep a little tribute like that on their island?
Wait, he gave you a cherry blossom wand? That's not some cheap thank you gift, that thing takes star fragments and a cherry blossom petal to craft. Dude was probably a kid who didn't have much on his island and still handed over something rare just because your orchard made him think of his grandma. That part hit me harder than the tree thing honestly. My little brother had a guy visit his town back in New Leaf who did something similar, left a gold rose and never showed up again. So no, you're not the only one who plants stuff for ghosts.
