The little free library in my mom's neighborhood in Asheville has a whole shelf of games
I was walking my dog past it on Tuesday and noticed someone left a copy of A Short Hike and Stardew Valley for Switch in there, just sitting between the mystery novels. I guess people are using it to pass along cozy games now, which honestly feels nicer than trading them in for 12 bucks at a store. There was even a little note taped to the Stardew case that said "take your time with this one." Has anyone else seen games starting to show up in those neighborhood book boxes?
Is it really that different from selling them though? I've seen games pop up in those boxes around my area too, and half the time they're gone within a day, which makes me wonder if it's actual sharing or just someone grabbing free stuff to flip. The note on the Stardew case is a nice touch, but I'd bet money that copy ends up on Facebook Marketplace by next week. Maybe I'm just cynical from watching my own books disappear from those boxes and never come back.
