Back in '08 on a job in Tacoma, I was overthinking my load swing.

An old hand just said 'stop fighting it, let the crane do the work' and it clicked. Anyone else have a simple piece of advice that changed their whole approach?

My buddy in Phoenix finally learned to trust his plumb bob.

Is a plumb bob really the best tool for that job? I've seen too many guys waste time with them when a good level is faster and just as accurate. Sometimes old school isn't better.

Tell you what, a good level can drift over time. That plumb bob is always finding true vertical, no batteries or calibration needed. Speed isn't everything if the job has to be right.
