Counting the jobs on my logbook hit 500 this morning...
I always figured experience was just time behind the controls but seeing that number in black and white really made me realize how many tight spots I've actually threaded a load through. Anybody else ever get weirded out by a random milestone like that?

Yeah, you ever look back and realize half those landings felt more like controlled crashes? I hit 500 last month and had to laugh at how many I've walked away from saying "well that could've gone worse." The ones that stick with me are the narsty crosswinds at night where you're just hoping the asphalt catches the tires before the fence does. Or the time I greased one on so smooth I forgot to set the parking brake and rolled back a few feet. Milestones like that just remind you how many times you got lucky, not just good.
