Had a real pucker moment with a swinging load in Portland yesterday.
The wind picked up just as I was setting a 15-ton concrete panel and it started to spin, but I managed to feather it down by cutting the swing and using just the hoist to land it soft on the blocks. What's your go-to move when a load gets lively on you?

Man, fifteen tons starting to spin? That's a full change of pants right there. I've seen a pallet of block get twitchy, but a whole panel in the wind is next level. You kept it off the deck though, that's what counts. What's the biggest load you've had dance on you like that?

Had a bundle of steel joists try to walk off the trailer once. Just eased off the throttle and let it settle back down.

Remember seeing a load of trusses get squirrelly in a crosswind once. Watched the operator just freeze up on the controls for a second, which made it worse. Sometimes you just gotta breathe and make one smooth move.
