Picked a 60 ton truck crane over a 100 ton RT back in 2011, still not sure I got it right
When I started my own gig near Tacoma I had enough saved for one machine and it came down to a used 60 ton truck crane or a 100 ton rough terrain that needed a new turret seal. I went with the truck crane since it was cheaper to move and I could run it on my own without a second guy. Twelve years later I have done a ton of precast panel work with it but I still turn down the bigger picks and hand them off to a buddy with a 200. The RT would have opened up way more jobs but that seal job would have eaten my whole first year. Anybody else make a starter equipment call early on that you still second guess?
