Rant: hit 1,400 picks on my load chart in 8 months thanks to a tiny notebook habit
Got my crane cert 8 months ago and started writing down every pick I made in a $3 pocket notebook, lift weight, radius, boom angle, all of it. Last week I counted up and I'd logged 1,400 picks without one load chart violation, mostly on a 60 ton in Amarillo. My trainer Frank said most new guys rack up 2 or 3 close calls in their first year because they trust their gut on radius instead of checking. Curious if any of you older hands keep a lift log, or do you just know your chart cold after a while?
