Site walk with the building owner went sideways fast

Last Tuesday on a job in Portland, the owner kept yelling up at me to pick the loaded bucket higher, but he was standing right under it. I had to swing the load away and climb down just to tell him the whole crane was at its max hook height already. Has anyone else had to explain basic lift limits to someone who signs the checks?
