Spent $400 on that fancy load indicator gadget... what a waste

I bought one of those expensive digital load indicators from a trade show in Dallas about six months ago. Thought it would make my life easier, save time on manual calculations. But honestly, it kept giving me false alarms when I was lifting within limits. Lost a whole afternoon on a job site trying to recalibrate it, and the client was not happy. The thing just couldn't handle the wind gusts we get here near the coast. Ended up going back to my old load chart and hand signals with the ground crew. Has anyone else found those high tech gadgets to be more trouble than they're worth?

Man, nothing says "productivity" like a gadget that needs more babysitting than the actual lift.

@reese_nelson preach. Bought a "smart" jack last year for the shop and it's a nightmare. Always needs a firmware update or a Bluetooth reconnect. Takes longer to get it working than to just grab the manual one. You end up babysitting the thing more than the car you are trying to lift. Makes you wonder who actually tests this stuff before they sell it.
