That "quick" load chart fix turned into a 4 hour nightmare on site

I was working a job in Richmond last Tuesday, setting some steel beams for a new parking garage. Got to the site and realized my load chart for the Grove RT650 was all smudged from rain the day before, couldn't read a thing. Thought I'd just pull up a digital copy on my phone, no big deal. But the mobile website for the manual was so garbage, kept freezing and crashing, and the PDF wouldn't load at all. Ended up calling the rental yard, got bounced between three guys, and finally someone emailed me a clean chart 45 minutes later. By then the whole crew was standing around waiting, and the foreman was giving me that look. Has anyone else dealt with bad digital manuals making a simple job drag out like that?

Yeah, always download the PDF before you leave the yard.

By then the whole crew was standing around" - did that foreman ever let you forget it?

Man that Richmond job sounds like a total mess, nothing worse than tech failing when you're already behind schedule. @cora863 is right though, I always pull the full PDF down to my phone before I even leave the yard.
