My worst writing week started with a broken laptop charger.
It happened on a Tuesday in March. The charger snapped, leaving my main story file stuck on a dead machine. I had to hand write everything for three days on a legal pad from the dollar store. The weird part? Going back to pen and paper fixed a plot hole I'd been stuck on for weeks. Has a tech fail ever helped your writing process?

Oh man, my friend's old computer crashed and deleted a whole chapter. Like @the_elliot said, having to rebuild it from memory actually made the dialogue way sharper.

Honestly, that's the universe forcing you to slow down and think. My phone dying once made me actually outline a chapter in my head instead of just staring at a blank doc. The pressure to remember it all made the good stuff stick.

Theres a writer I follow who talked about this exact thing on a podcast last month. She said her worst power outage forced her to rewrite a whole chapter longhand and she ended up cutting like 40% of the fluff. Makes me wonder if we lean too hard on tech to save every bad sentence when pen and paper would make us edit as we go.
