PSA: Stop making every prompt a 'missing person' mystery
I've been scrolling this sub for about 2 months now, and I swear 30% of the prompts are just 'Write about someone who vanished and left a weird note.' It's getting lazy. Last week I saw three separate prompts with the exact same twist, someone disappears from a small town and the narrator finds a cryptic voicemail. If you're gonna do a mystery, give us something specific to work with, like a time frame or a weird object they left behind. Have you all noticed this too, or am I just picking bad days to browse?

My buddy spent a week writing one of those, then the guy turned out to be hiding in his own attic.

Man, that story hits different. Used to think those deep dive reports were mostly just people wasting time on the internet, you know, chasing ghosts. But hearing about your buddy's week, that really flipped my thinking. Sometimes the most obvious answer is the one you're staring right at, and that's a wild reminder. Guess you gotta trust the process sometimes, even when it feels like a dead end.
