Question about running a prompt swap at a local library
I went to a library event in Portland last weekend and they did a prompt swap table. Each person wrote a starting line on an index card, dropped it in a box, and drew someone else's. I ended up with a line about a lighthouse keeper who finds a radio message from a ship that sank in 1923. It got me thinking about trying this with my writing group, but we only have 6 people and I worry the prompts will feel recycled fast. Has anyone run a bigger swap with strangers and how did you keep the prompts from getting samey? Also, is there a rule about how specific the starting line should be, like one sentence vs a whole scenario?
