Tried writing a story from my cat's point of view for 30 minutes straight

I sat down last Tuesday with a prompt about writing from an animal's perspective. I thought it'd be silly but I went all in, describing my cat's morning routine from her low-to-the-ground view. What surprised me was how much I noticed about my own house that I never see anymore. Has anyone else gotten weirdly deep results from a prompt you expected to be just goofy?

Oh wait, I actually get this now! I used to roll my eyes at these kinds of prompts but trying one totally shifted my perspective lol.

That first one I tried was about rewriting a single paragraph from three different angles. Completely changed how I look at my own writing now. Still roll my eyes at the gimmicky ones though, gotta pick the right prompt.

Honestly same here. I tried one of those "write it like you're explaining it to a friend" prompts and it clicked way harder than I expected. Felt dumb for ignoring them for so long tbh. But yeah you gotta be picky, some of them are straight up useless.
