A guy at the coffee shop told me my video idea was boring
I was working on a script at The Daily Grind in Austin last week, just talking out loud about a new video. The guy next to me leaned over and said, 'Sorry, but that sounds boring. You need a hook in the first three seconds.' He was blunt, but he was right. I rewrote the whole opening on the spot. Do you think being that direct is helpful or just rude?

That "hook in three seconds" thing is real... brutal but useful. I've had to learn to just say "thanks for the note" and then decide later if they were right.

Yeah, that three second rule is a tough one to follow. I read something about how our brains are just wired to judge things super fast online, which makes what @sanchez.pat said about saying thanks first so smart. It gives you a minute to actually think instead of just reacting.
