A librarian in Portland told me my research folder was too tidy

I was in the library last week printing out source pages for a video essay I'm scripting. I had everything color coded, tabbed, the whole thing. One of the librarians walked by and said "you're organizing before you understand, that's why it feels heavy." She was right. I spent more time sorting than reading. Switched to just dumping everything in one folder and writing messy notes on top. The script came together in two nights after that. Anyone else had a stranger's offhand comment break a bad habit of theirs?

That's the same reason I stopped sorting my lumber by size before framing, you gotta build it messy first.
