Appreciation post: Switched from Premiere to DaVinci Resolve and finally get the hype

I spent 2 years fighting with Premiere crash loops and constant renders. A buddy at the Chicago Creators meetup showed me how he color grades in 10 minutes on Resolve. I gave it a real shot last month after my 6th crash in one session. The node based workflow made more sense to me than layers ever did. Anyone else switch NLEs and find something that just clicked different?

The node based approach just makes more sense to me too once I got used to it, feels like I can actually see what I'm doing instead of stacking layers and hoping for the best. Totally get the crash thing, Premiere gave me so many random freezes that I started saving every two minutes out of habit.

Yeah but I also feel like the node based thing can get messy if you're not super organized with your naming, I've had a few times where I come back to a project weeks later and have no clue what any of the nodes are doing. It's kind of a double edged sword where the visibility is great until you stop labeling stuff properly. Maybe that's more of a user error thing though than a problem with the system itself.
