Figured out my audio levels were clipping for 6 months straight
I kept wondering why my podcast episodes sounded so harsh and distorted. Turns out my input gain was cranked way too high on the interface the whole time. Has anyone else missed something this basic in their setup for way too long?

Oh man, that's such a bummer! I had the exact same thing happen with my recordings for like three months before I realized my levels were peaking the whole time.

Did you try checking if your interface's preamp was just running hot that whole time?

Is this just how most things in life work though? You spend months thinking you're doing something wrong when really it was one tiny setting you forgot about. Then once you fix it, you can't believe you didn't see it sooner.
