Finally got my first 10 subscribers on YouTube after 8 weeks of grinding

I've been posting videos about woodworking jigs for my shop and last week I hit 10 subs. I got like 300 views on one video about a crosscut sled I built for my Delta table saw. It's not much but it made me realize I should focus on really specific builds instead of generic shop tours. Anyone else see better numbers when they got super niche?

I hit 30 subs in my first month talking about nothing but restoring a 1967 Craftsman bandsaw. General woodworking stuff got me about 8 views per video but that bandsaw series picked up a steady 50-80 per upload. Getting hyper specific worked for me too but mostly because it kept me from burning out on generic content.

Did you see that study from a while back about niche YouTubers having way better retention than general channels? It makes sense why your bandsaw series took off, people searching for that exact thing are already invested. Sounds like you found a sweet spot where the content is sustainable for you and actually reaches the right viewers.
