Had a brutal day last week on a logo project for a local bakery

Client asked for three rounds of revisions in one afternoon and then decided they wanted something completely different after I'd already finished. Has anyone else had a client completely change direction after signing off on the final draft?

oh man, that is brutal, i feel for you. i mean, i once had a client who said they loved the final logo, paid me, and then two weeks later emailed me asking if i could "just try a whole different vibe because their sister didn't like the color." it was like a gut punch honestly. i think sometimes people just get cold feet or want to feel like they're getting their money's worth with extra changes. maybe it's just me but i've learned to put in my contract that once they sign off and i send the final files, any new direction costs a whole new project fee. still doesn't stop the frustration though, i came this close to just replying with a crying emoji and nothing else.

Is it just me or does it feel like people get way too comfortable asking for a redo after the deal's done, like in the grocery store line when someone tries to swap an item after they already paid? I see it all the time, not just in creative work but everywhere, like it's some kind of modern habit @robinson.hannah. That contract move you got is smart though, gotta protect yourself from the sister's opinion trap.

Ugh, I totally get that. It's amazing how someone else's opinion can totally dismantle a whole project after it's done. The sister trap is real, and it's such a waste of everyone's time. And you're right, @harper693, the grocery store comparison is spot on. It's like people think "final" is just a suggestion.
