Heard a pro editor say they batch record all their voiceovers in one go
I started doing that last Tuesday for my YouTube tutorials and it cut my editing time by like 40%, has anyone else found a weird time hack that works better than you expected?

Batch recording all their voiceovers in one go" is the exact kind of thing I thought would never work for me but I tried it for a few of my videos and it saved me so much time. I actually started doing something similar with my video clips where I just record a whole bunch of B-roll at once on the weekend. It feels weird to do it all separate from the actual editing but now I have a library of clips ready to grab and it makes everything way faster.

Honestly @the_oscar, that b-roll library idea is genius. I've been doing something similar and it's a game changer. The trick is to just shoot everything at once, then dump it into a folder and label it by vibe instead of by video. That way when you're editing and need a "person walking in a city" shot you can just grab one without having to dig through old projects. It feels wrong at first, like you're cheating somehow, but the time you save on not having to set up your camera every single day is wild. Plus having extra clips lying around lets you experiment with transitions and cuts you wouldn't normally try.

Used to think doing everything in one messy take was the only way to be "authentic" or whatever... but grabbing all my b-roll at once on a Sunday afternoon actually freed up my weeknights. The weirdest part is not having to stress about lighting or setup every single day, just dump it all into folders labeled by mood like "busy street" or "coffee shop window." Definitely not as chaotic as I thought it'd be, way more organized.
