Honestly, my whole week got wrecked by a single analytics bug

Tbh, last week was a total mess. I was prepping a big report for a brand deal and my dashboard showed a video had 80k views. I built my whole pitch around that number. The day before the call, I double-checked and the real count was 8k. The platform had a glitch that added a zero for like, three days straight. I had to scramble and rewrite everything in one night. It made me look super unprofessional. Ngl, I felt like just deleting the whole project. Has anyone else had a platform bug totally screw over their data right before something important? How do you even double-check for that?

Ugh that's the worst feeling, I'm so sorry. I mean how are you even supposed to catch something like that? I've learned to check a second source if I can, like pulling the raw data file if the platform has one, because the dashboard itself can lie. That scramble the night before sounds brutal.

Trust nothing from a single source. I always cross check key numbers with a second tool or even a manual spot check now. That gut feeling when a number seems too good to be true? It usually is. A quick sanity check against past data can save you from this exact nightmare.

That "gut feeling" is what gets people in trouble. Sometimes a number looks weird because it's actually a big win or a real change in the pattern. If you second guess every good result you'll never move fast. I've seen teams waste a whole week checking a number that was right, just because it was better than they hoped. You gotta trust your tools sometimes or you'll never get anything done.
