I chose a monthly subscription over buying patterns outright and it backfired
I went with a $15 monthly pattern subscription instead of buying individual PDF patterns for $8 each. After 6 months of paying, I've only used two patterns and now I'm stuck with a library I don't want. Has anyone else found subscriptions more trouble than they are worth?

Wait what was I thinking when I signed up for that? I did the exact same thing with a woodworking pattern subscription last year and I'm still paying for patterns I'll never use. I've got like 40 PDFs sitting in a folder I call "future projects that will never happen." At least with individual patterns you only waste 8 bucks instead of 90 dollars like I did. I swear subscriptions are just a trap for people like us who think we'll suddenly become super crafty.

Right?! It's like companies figured out we all have that one fantasy version of ourselves who's super organized and productive, so they just sell us subscriptions to that imaginary person lol.

90 dollars for woodworking patterns? Man, that stings a bit but I'm not sure I'd call it a tragedy or anything. I mean subscriptions are annoying sure but it's not like you signed a mortgage. You can cancel anytime and you still have all those PDFs. Maybe one day you'll get around to making a birdhouse or something. People act like companies are tricking them but nobody held a gun to your head when you put in your credit card. If you got some use out of it even for a few months then it's not a total loss. We all do stuff we regret, just not sure it's worth getting all worked up over.
