I posted the same project video 3 times on 3 different days and the Tuesday one got 12x the views
So I make small build videos, nothing fancy, just stuff I put together in my garage. Last January I finished a little scrap wood shelf and posted it on a Sunday morning. It did okay, like 300 views, normal for me. Out of curiosity I re uploaded the exact same video with a different thumbnail on a Tuesday around 6pm, and it pulled almost 4,000 views in two days. Same file, same length, same everything except the day and the thumbnail. I tried it again a week later on a Friday and it died, barely 200. I always assumed the algorithm cared most about what was in the video, not when you hit post. Now I think timing and the thumbnail do way more than people admit, and nobody wants to hear that because it feels random. I still can't fully explain it, but I've started logging every upload date and view count in a spreadsheet since March. Has anyone else seen a post blow up on one day and flop on another with zero changes to the actual content?
