Lost a client over a 40 minute zoom link mixup
Last Tuesday I had a discovery call with a new client, and I sent them the wrong Zoom link. They clicked it, landed in some other creator's waiting room, and bailed before I could fix it. I spent 20 minutes checking my calendar settings, realizing I pasted the link from an old project folder. That one mistake cost me a $600 retainer, and the worst part is the client didn't even respond to my follow-up email. I double check every link now by opening it myself in a private window before sending. Has anyone else lost work over a dumb tech slip that wasn't even about the actual content? How do you build failsafes for stuff like this without slowing down?
