My audio interface just died right before a client call
I was in my home office setting up for a voiceover session with a new client. I plugged in my Scarlett 2i2 and the power light flickered once, then nothing. I had about fifteen minutes before the call. I grabbed my old USB microphone as a backup, tested it quickly, and explained the situation to the client at the start. We still got the work done, just with a bit more background noise cleanup later. What's your go-to backup gear when something essential fails?

Remember my old webcam dying mid-presentation. Had to prop my phone on a stack of books and use it as a camera. The client thought my makeshift setup was pretty clever.

Did the client ever ask @norab21 for tips on their own setup after that?

Saw an article just the other day about a presenter who used a hollowed-out book as a phone stand for virtual meetings. Sometimes the simplest fixes end up working the best.
