My brother in law called my garage shelving "content" and I've been annoyed about it for 4 days
So I built these plywood shelves in my garage 3 months ago, nothing fancy, 2x4 frames and 3/4 inch ply, and I stuck a little video of the build on my channel mostly so my dad could see it. My brother in law was over helping me swap a water heater and he goes "you know that shelf video is your best content right?" and I laughed it off. Then he pulled it up on his phone and showed me the comments, and there were like 40 people asking what screws I used and how I anchored it to the studs. He said the finished glamour shots of projects get a few likes but the boring middle part, the part where stuff is half built and ugly, is what people actually want to see because they're staring at their own half built mess. I've been thinking about it all weekend and I think he's right, I've had it backwards this whole time. I keep saving the messy parts for myself and only posting the clean ending. Meanwhile I've got a whole summer of footage sitting on a drive of me cussing at a miter saw. Curious what you all post, the ending or the middle?
