My GoPro mount failed mid-shot at the dog park last Saturday
I was filming my golden retriever chasing a frisbee at Astoria Park when the suction cup just gave out and the camera fell 20 feet onto the concrete. The housing cracked but the memory card survived, so I got this hilarious clip of the camera tumbling across the grass with my dog chasing it. Has anyone else had a cheap mount fail in the middle of an important shoot?

Yikes, that sucks. Suction cups are basically a ticking time bomb.

What's the worst thing you've seen fall off one of those? I had a buddy lose a brand new GoPro off his windshield last summer. Still cracks me up thinking about it, but man that must've stung.

Switched to a tether after my first mount failed (a cheap one from Amazon) and it saved my camera twice since. Totally agree with val949 - suction cups are just asking for trouble with any sudden movement.
