My junior dev called me out on my code comments and I had to sit down

Had a 20-year-old intern last week look at a function I wrote and ask "why does this say 'fix this garbage later' if it went to production?" I told him it was just a joke between past me and future me. He just stared at me and said "but future you is present you now, and you left it for someone else." Hit different hearing it from a kid who wasn't even trying to be rude. Has anyone else had a student or newer creator point out something obvious you overlooked?
