My video editing software crashed right before a big upload deadline
It happened yesterday afternoon, just as I was finishing a 15 minute project for a client in Phoenix. The whole preview window froze and the auto-save file was corrupted, so I lost about two hours of work. I had to quickly redo the cuts using an older backup from my external drive. Has anyone else had a major crash with DaVinci Resolve on a Mac recently, and what did you do to get back on track?

Man that sounds rough but is it really a crisis? People act like losing two hours of work is the end of the world. It's just video edits, not like you lost the original footage. You had a backup drive, you fixed it. Software crashes all the time, that's why you save often and keep backups. Seems like you handled it fine, just part of the job really.

Yeah I used to think that way too. But man, losing that much work right before a deadline hits different, you know? Changes how you see it.

Remember that time my old laptop died with a half-finished final paper? The backup was a week old. That's not two hours, that's re-writing entire sections from memory while sleep-deprived. It's the mental load, not just the lost time. You ever have a project just evaporate like that?
