Rendering a 10-minute video took me three hours yesterday

It was supposed to be quick, but my PC fan sounded like a jet engine. I just sat there watching the progress bar crawl.

My buddy had that exact jet engine problem last week. He was trying to render a short clip for his D&D group and his old laptop just gave up. The thing got so hot he could have cooked an egg on the keyboard, and it still took all afternoon. He said watching that bar not move was a special kind of torture. Now he's shopping for a new computer, which is a whole other nightmare.

Another friend of mine had a rendering meltdown with his PC last year. The fans were so loud we had to shout over them, and the whole thing froze halfway through. Hearing @the_cora's story just brings back that painful memory of tech failing when you need it most.
