Stop guessing at upload times, check your own analytics first

I ran two identical short-form edits last Tuesday, one at 9am and one at 7pm, and the 9am one pulled 4x the views on my last 30 day data. I wasted three weeks following some guru's schedule before I bothered to look at my own audience's active hours, and the difference was night and day. Has anyone else found their best slot is totally opposite of what those big creator tip threads say?

Right? The whole guru schedule thing is such a trap. My own data showed my people show up like crazy around 10pm on weeknights, which I never would have guessed in a million years because I'm usually asleep by then. I also ran a little test like you did, two different days, same video style, and the late night one tripled the morning one for me. It's wild how much time we waste trusting some stranger's audience instead of just letting the numbers talk. Once I stopped following the big tips and just checked my own active hours twice a month, everything got way easier.

My last 30 days showed my audience is most active at 6am on Sundays, which is the opposite of every "best time" list I ever read. I spent a full month posting at 7pm weekdays because that's what the big accounts swore by, and my numbers were flat the whole time. Once I switched to testing three different slots across two weeks and actually logged the results in a spreadsheet, the pattern was obvious. The people who post those schedules are working with their own data, not yours, and your followers literally tell you when they're around if you just look. I keep a simple note in my phone with my top three time slots and I rotate them every couple weeks to catch any shift.
