That panel jam at the Brooklyn creative meetup changed my beat workflow

I was at a beat battle in Brooklyn last month and this producer from Bushwick dropped a track using only field recordings he captured that morning. Has anyone else ditched sample packs for raw audio and noticed a difference in your sound?

and honestly that raw texture is exactly what I've been missing lately too. I started recording my own foley sounds with just a cheap Zoom recorder and it's a total game changer for making stuff feel less sterile. the imperfections really do make the whole groove hit different compared to polished samples.

Have you tried recording your own drums from random objects around your apartment? I started banging on pipes and stomping on cardboard boxes and the character it gives my beats is way more interesting than any pack I've used. It forces you to work with weird tones and imperfections that end up making the whole track feel alive.

Yeah field recordings add this gritty texture that sample packs just can't touch...
