Tried batch scheduling Reels for a month and engagement tanked

I scheduled 30 Reels ahead of time using the Meta Creator Studio last month, but my average views dropped from 2,000 to about 400 per post. Turns out the algorithm really punishes posts that aren't uploaded in real time from the app. Has anyone else seen this happen with their content?

I used to be in the "it doesn't matter when you upload" camp honestly. But that line about your friends channel and uploading the morning of really made me stop and think. I had the same thing happen with my TikTok drafts a few months back and just wrote it off as bad luck. Now I'm wondering if the algorithm really can sense that stale queue energy, like it knows the video has been sitting there. Kinda changes how I see the whole scheduling thing now.

That bit about the algorithm punishing scheduled posts is interesting. I had a similar thing happen with my YouTube channel last year. I put together a whole month of content in one weekend using their scheduler, and my views dropped by half. I started wondering if the system could somehow tell the video wasn't new, like it was stale from sitting in a queue. My buddy Mike who runs a small woodworking channel said he always uploads his videos in the morning of the day he wants them to go live, and he swears his numbers are better that way. Maybe there's something to this real time upload idea across different platforms.

Are we sure it's not just the content itself tanking? @alice_hart I've scheduled tons of stuff through Creator Studio and my numbers stayed the same or went up. Could be your audience just didn't vibe with whatever you queued up that month.
