Unpopular opinion: picking a niche I actually like beat chasing the trending one, and my views dropped 40% for 6 months before it paid off
When I started posting in the Creators Hub forum back in January, everyone kept saying to jump on whatever topic was blowing up that month, so I tried the big trending stuff for about 8 weeks and hated every second of it. I was getting maybe 200 views a post, which sounds fine until you realize I was making content about stuff I did not care about at all. So I picked the boring option instead and went all in on my weird little corner of interest, and my views tanked hard, like down to 120 a post for the next 6 months. My buddy Marcus said I was wasting my time and should go back to the trending topics, but here is the thing, the people who did stick around actually left comments and came back every time. Around month 7 something shifted and I hit 3,000 views on one post, then 5,000 the next month, and now I get more real engagement than I ever did chasing trends. Anyone else pick the slower route over the fast one, and how long did it take for you to see it work?
