Vent: that $40 workshop on 'audience growth' was pure math, not creativity

I sat in on a paid session Tuesday where the speaker kept pushing a 5 post per week formula and tracking every view like a spreadsheet, but he dodged my question about how to keep your own voice when you're chasing algorithm numbers. It felt less like a creator hub and more like a sales pitch for consistency over quality, which rubbed me wrong. Has anyone else walked out of these paid talks feeling like the advice kills the thing that made you start creating in the first place?

That talk sounds exhausting. Honestly, the best growth push I got was from a tiny local meetup where we just swapped what we made and talked about why we liked it. No numbers, no posting schedules, just real feedback from real people. That made me want to show up and make better stuff, not feed some calendar. The algorithm stuff can be a tool, but it should never steer the ship. If a speaker can't answer a simple question about staying authentic, they're selling a formula, not helping you grow. You probably already know your voice better than that person ever will.
