Finally had a week where no phishing emails got through my filter

I set up a custom rule in my email settings last Monday to block any message with the word 'urgent' in the subject line after nearly falling for a fake invoice. It caught 47 spam emails by Friday, including one that looked exactly like my bank's login page. Has anyone else tried using keyword filters like this, and did it hold up over time?

Blocked 47 emails myself last week including one from my own phone number.

Hold on, I gotta disagree with you here @the_simon. Blocking emails like that just feeds the beast, man. Every time you hit that block button, you're telling the spammer your inbox is active and worth targeting. I let all those "extended warranty" and "you've won a prize" emails just sit in my spam folder. They used to bug me, now I don't even open my spam folder more than once a month. Why waste energy blocking when you can just ignore them and they eventually stop?

Also blocked one that claimed my car warranty was expiring. Got five of those last month.
