Had to pick between a password manager and a notebook for my logins
I went with the notebook for 3 months after getting sketched out by a data breach, but then my dog chewed it up and I lost everything. Has anyone else had a similar system fail and switched back?

Man, that dog story hurt to read. Had a buddy who swore by sticky notes on his monitor until his roommate's cat knocked a glass of water onto the desk and it was just a wet, illegible mess. He tried to reconstruct his passwords from memory and got locked out of his bank account twice. Ended up taping a piece of paper to the underside of his keyboard drawer like some kinda spy from a bad movie. Eventually gave up and went back to a password manager too. The digital option feels weird until something physical gets wrecked.

Oh man, I feel that. I used to keep a notebook under my keyboard for passwords until my nephew spilled juice all over it during a visit. Switched to a password manager after that and honestly it's way less hassle than trying to hide a piece of paper somewhere clever. Now I just let the app handle everything and don't have to worry about getting locked out again.

My uncle had his password manager get hacked last year and lost access to everything for three days... @mark_mitchell I'll take a soggy sticky note over that kind of digital nightmare any day.
