Just realized password managers might not be for everyone after talking to my dad
Last week my dad asked me to help with his email because he got locked out again. He uses the same password for everything and writes them on a sticky note under his keyboard. I kept pushing him to try a password manager like Bitwarden, but he said he doesn't trust putting all his keys in one digital basket. That got me thinking, maybe for someone who is not tech savvy, a password manager is actually a bigger risk than reusing passwords. He is 68 and if he forgets the master password, he is totally locked out of everything with no recovery. On the other hand, I have seen too many hacked accounts from people who reuse passwords. So which is the lesser evil for non tech people, a master password they might lose or simple passwords they can remember? Has anyone here successfully switched an older relative to a manager without constant phone support?
