Last week I called a client's office manager a liar over a phishing email

I was at a small law firm in Phoenix updating their firewall rules when the office manager handed me a USB drive saying 'this came from IT support.' I plugged it in and immediately got hit with a fake ransomware popup, turned out their actual IT guy had been fired two months earlier and nobody told me. How do you get people to stop trusting random USB drives without sounding like a jerk every time?

I mean people will believe anything on a screen these days even when common sense says otherwise.

People will believe anything" is spot on. I've seen friends fall for obvious scams because the video looked slick. It's like critical thinking shuts off when the screen lights up.

You ever just start asking them basic questions about it? I had a buddy hyping some crypto thing and I just kept asking who runs it and where the money actually comes from. He started getting quieter and quieter.
