My $60 hardware key almost got me locked out of my own accounts

Bought a Yubikey for two-factor, but then I lost it while traveling last month. Had to use the backup codes I printed, which felt like finding a spare key under a rock. Anyone else have a backup plan for when their main security gadget goes missing?

Honestly, that backup plan sounds like the whole point of having one.

See what you mean but gotta push back a little. The point of a backup plan isn't just to have it, it's to make sure your main plan is strong enough that you never need the backup. If you're always leaning on plan B, your plan A wasn't good enough to start with. A real backup is for true emergencies, not a crutch for poor planning.
