Password manager advice from a former boss backfired hard
My old manager swore by keeping all passwords in a plain text file on the desktop. Said password managers were overkill and a single point of failure. I followed that for 6 months until a USB drive with that file got left in a coffee shop in Austin. Someone logged into our vendor portal the next week and racked up $4,200 in fake orders. Switched to Bitwarden that same day. Anyone else been burned by someone's outdated but confident advice?
Left a USB drive with every password on it in a coffee shop? That is wild. A boss who is that sure of himself is usually the most dangerous kind. Glad you switched before it got worse.
