Picked a free password manager over a paid one and regretting it now
I went with Bitwarden because everyone said it was just as good as 1Password, but after 6 months the lack of some features is really starting to bug me. Has anyone else switched back to a paid option after trying the free route?

Nah I actually love Bitwarden... free tier handles everything I need.

Rolled my eyes reading this because I did the exact same thing. Bitwarden is fine until you realize you can't share passwords with your family without paying for it anyway, and then what's the point? I spent more time tweaking workarounds than I ever did just paying for 1Password. The free life is great until you've got 15 minutes to dig up a login for something important and you're stuck fighting with some janky feature. Sometimes you just gotta admit the paid people know what they're doing.

Bitwarden's free tier does family sharing though. You just set up an organization and invite people. It's a bit clunky but it works. Paid tier just gives you more storage and some extra features.
Spent a year on the free plan with my parents and siblings. No issues at all. Shared a dozen logins across everyone. Never hit a paywall.
People who can't figure out Bitwarden probably never tried. It's not that hard. Docs are clear. Plenty of YouTube tutorials.
1Password is fine if you like paying monthly for something that works the same. But free beats paid every time when the features are nearly identical.
