Pro tip: I used to use the same password for everything until a breach at work got me fired

back in 2019 I worked for a small construction company in Phoenix. Somebody phished the office manager and got into our email system. Since I used the same password for my personal email, they got into that too and sent invoices to our clients with fake bank info. Owner blamed me even though it was a basic phishing link. Now I use a password manager with different 16-character passwords for every site. Took me maybe 2 hours to set up. Has anyone else had a job or personal account get hit because of reused passwords?

My buddy used his work password for his fantasy football account and got locked out of both.

Gotta disagree with you @brianl53, that's not really a password problem, that's a bad habit problem. Using the same password for work stuff and personal sites is asking for trouble since one leak can mess up both. Better to just use a password manager than risk getting fired over fantasy football.

lol that's rough. I've definitely used the same password for so many things I'm basically one data breach away from losing everything, not just my fantasy team.
