Shoutout to my home router for almost getting me hacked last month
I was working from my apartment in Austin when my internet slowed to a crawl. Checked the router admin page and saw a dozen unknown devices connected. Someone had guessed my default password, 'admin123'. I changed it immediately to a 20-character random string. Also turned off remote management, which was on by default. Took about an hour to kick everything off and reset. Anyone else had to deal with a router breach? What was your first step?

My old roommate used to name our wifi "FBI Surveillance Van" as a joke. Turns out someone actually tried to hack it thinking it was real.

That's why @hunt.nora, you can't trust anything these days...

Wait, your remote management was just on by default? That's wild. I didn't even know routers still shipped with that setting turned on. Makes you wonder what else is wide open.
