Switched from LastPass to Bitwarden after the 2021 breach and it's way smoother
I used to just stick with LastPass because it was the default but after that big breach in 2021 I finally moved everything over to Bitwarden. Took me like an afternoon to export and import all 200+ passwords and I haven't had a single login issue since. Anyone else make the switch and find it easier to manage?

Bitwarden's open source, so at least you can actually see what they're doing with your data.

Big open source fan huh? Bitwarden being open source is cool and all but let's be real, how many people are actually digging through all that code to check? I get the principle matters, but it's like saying "hey this restaurant uses glass walls for the kitchen so you can see them cook" but you're still not gonna watch every single meal get made. Plus even if you did find something shady in the code, what are you gonna do about it? Fork it and fix it yourself? Most of us just want something that works without selling our passwords to the highest bidder.

Ha, that restaurant analogy is gold. I mean, sure, you're not gonna stand there watching every burger get flipped, but at least you know there's not a guy in the back dumping rat poison in the pickles. And honestly, the whole "fork it and fix it yourself" thing is kind of a joke. Like yeah, I'll get right on that between my day job and trying to remember my own kid's birthday. But I guess the point is that even if only a handful of code nerds actually check it, that's still way more eyeballs than some closed-source company paying one guy in a basement.
