Talked to a sysadmin at a coffee shop who made me rethink my password manager setup
I was sitting at a Starbucks last Thursday when this older guy saw me logging into something on my laptop. He asked if I was using a cloud based password manager and I said yeah. Then he told me about how he keeps his master passwords in a physical book locked in a fireproof safe because no cloud is truly unhackable. It kinda hit me different because I never thought about what happens if that company gets breached. Has anyone else gone back to offline methods for critical stuff?

Yeah the "no cloud is truly unhackable" thing got me too. I switched my master passwords to an offline password manager that only syncs locally and it's been way less stressful.

Syncing only locally" is the way to go. I keep mine on a flash drive in my desk drawer, haven't had a single worry since.
