Talking to my dad about his work email habits really made me think
My dad is in his 60s and he told me last weekend he uses the same password for everything including his bank and his fishing forum... I tried to explain why that's risky but he just shrugged. It hit me how normal people don't think about this stuff at all so how do we actually get them to care?

did your dad actually tell you he uses the same password for everything or did you just assume that? because my dad says that stuff all the time but when i pressed him he actually has a few different passwords he just forgets which ones for what. the real problem is people just don't want to remember a million logins so they pick one easy one and stick with it. maybe showing him a simple password manager on his phone would help more than trying to scare him.

Tell me @alice269, did you ever find out your dad secretly wrote all his passwords on a Post-it note under his keyboard anyway? Because that's the real issue here, not the password manager but the sheer stubbornness of a generation that thinks "password123" is secure enough. I swear, my old man still uses the same combo from 1998 and acts like I'm the crazy one for suggesting a change.
