That moment I clicked a sketchy email link at 2am
I was up late working on a quote for a fence job in Portland when I got an email saying my bank account was locked. I clicked the link and it took me to a fake login page that looked perfect, but the URL had a weird spelling. I caught it before typing my password, but now I double check every link on my phone before tapping.

Scott.jana brings up a good point. I actually didn't close the page right away, I stared at it for like five seconds trying to figure out if the logo was off or if the font looked a little different. Then I noticed the URL had an extra letter in it, kinda like "banhkofamerica" instead of "bankofamerica," and I closed it fast. But now I wonder if those five seconds were enough for something to grab my IP address or anything else. I've heard those fake pages can have keyloggers too, even if you don't type anything in.

You mentioned catching it before typing your password, but idk, did you actually close the page right away or hover on it for a bit? I mean, sometimes those fake pages have scripts that can grab info just from you clicking around. Maybe it's just me but I'd be worried about what else that page could've captured besides a password.
